Default issue with v-tech

Hello everyone. Name is mike. New to the forum.

I just bought a 2002 accord w/ 2.3L v-tech F23a1.

I do not believe the v-tech is engaging.

What RPM is it supposed to engage and it is even enough for me to notice??? Or is my Vtec busted?

Wondering if anyone may have some helpfull tips to figure out problem. Or is this l.e.v. model just so suttle you can't tell?

thanks for any help

you will not notice a difference your vtec is fine assuming no check engine light. I have same engine with manual no sound difference, its for fuel economy so the engine burns the gas more efficently.

why is it that everybody thinks vtec is the equivalent to nos and they should be flying into the backs of their seats. go to the howstuffworks website and type in vtec. it breaks it down very well.

for F22b1 & F23 (both SOHC Vtec engine)
Vtec comes aroun 2300~3200rpm

not like the D,B,H, or other F engines
