Default Klasse AIO and SG application

I recently bought a 94 Del Sol, Milano red, and its somewhat faded (of course)

Basically I was going to get it repainted this summer, and work my *** off this next semester during school to save for a paint job but... seeing as how the paint is basically just faded on the front bumper, rear bumper, and rear window trim, I think I can get rid of the majority of the oxidation with some klasse all in one, and some sealer.

I've searched "klasse" in "all open forums" and there was maybe 10 results, none of which describe the application process of this stuff, so my question is, how do I apply it to get the MAXIMUM result?

I'll buy an orbital buffer if needed, and if it will yield better results, because a couple hundred vs about 2 grand for a paint job is well worth it imo, if the results will be significant vs hand application.

I haven't ordered any of the stuff yet, still too cold out to detail it, so i'm just going to get it all at once.

If you want to see pictures of the car and the faded paint, you can check them out here

(keith hope you dont mind me using your fs post..)

as you can tell, the oxidation really isnt bad.
Thanks!

You might want to try using a Porter Cable 7424. I bet you can get one for about $100 on Ebay. Then you are gonna need a couple pads. Meguiars or Lake County FTW.
AIO mayyyy solve that problem, however I am betting that it's gonna need some more aggressive polishing.
Don't worry you can still use the PC, honda paint is soft. Try getting some more aggressive polish such as Optimum Compound, or even Optimum Hyper Compound.
If you want DIYs check out Autopia.org.

But yeah it is totally correctable.

Definitely the kind of response i was looking for, thank you.

Would recommend using the Optimum Compound, then the AIO, the the SG, then some carnauba wax? Or just completely eliminate the AIO in place of the OC?

Basically my process was going to be:
day1:
1) dawn wash
2) clay bar
3) meguiars gold class wash
4) AIO
5) Sealer Glaze
Day 2:
Sealer Glaze
Day 3:
Sealer Glaze
Carnauba wax

Just a word of warning when you apply the Klasse SG you wanna spread it THIN! That stuff is a real biznitch to buff off when you over-apply it. Plus the product itself is really thin, so it is really easy to pour too much of it out and over-saturate your application pad.
Did you check out Autopia? Lots of really good tutorials for working on your cars paint.
Buffing paint isn't exactly rocket science but there are a few tips and tricks that make it a bit easier.
good luck, don't forget to post pictures.

Yea if the AIO doesn't do the trick i'll try the OC and OHC, but people have had pretty good results witht he AIO, so we'll see. Ill definitely take some pictures too. I went to autopia.com, found out it was a dental site? haha, then tried autopia.org... that seemed to make a bit more sense. I did check out some youtube vids with the porter cable, they were somewhat helpful.
Do you have any tips as far as buffing small spaces? Like how do I get the 6.5 inch pad to buff inside the auxillary light section on the del sol front bumper? As well as the rear window trim, getting the under side of it?

Sometimes with really small area you just have to suck it up and do the polishing by hand. I'll tell you this much, it certainly makes you appreciate the buffer a helluva lot more. As far as getting in/around trim, painters tape is going to be your new best friend. Klasse AIO is pretty safe to touch rubber and trim with, however if you do end up stepping up to a full polish you are going to want to tape off all areas of non-painted plastic and trim, if they are polished over you are going to be unhappy.

Usually though you can just tilt the buffer up on it's side and use the edge of the pad for polishing into smaller areas. Since you are using a dual action polisher you don't have to worry as much about damaging the paint, just be a little more cautious when doing so.
