painting rims in temps under 55-75 def F?
Hey guys... Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I live in Wisconsin and it's still frickin cold here...but I have spring break next week and just bought some LS mesh rims that I was planning on painting bronze over spring break...So I was just wondering if painting the rims in temps under 55-75 deg F would do anything to the quality of the paint job. I was planning to use DupliColor rim paint and their instructions specifically say to paint in temps between 55-75 deg F....So has anyone ever painted under these temps? and what did the rims turn out like? Thanks for the help guys....any suggestions, comments welcomed...
I did do a search btw and found nothing...

what could happen is that the paint will fog up. It's weird because i've painted things a bunch of times in cold temperatures and it's pretty much hit or miss. If you prime the wheels it will be less likely to fog. Bare metal has a good shot a fogging. If you cant avoid cold temperature, what I would do is paint one wheel at a time and right after the last coat bring it inside your house to dry in warmer temperature. GL!
well iv done 6 sets of wheels and each time used the duplicolor high heat engine paint. if the painting process is done in an area( such as out in the backyard)... i do it that way!!.....and the temps are under 55 it will take longer for each coat to flash ( roughly 10 mins after each coating) and also ur finish will sometime turn out darker than supposed to. honestly i did a set this winter in under 55 degree weather and after each coat i brought the wheel indoors and took a hair dryer to it. hell of a lot more work, but sometime u have got to do what u got to do to get it done. iv had no runs nor any complaints on my wheels or wheels iv done for other ppl. if i could figure out how to transfer my pics from my phone to the computer, i would show u all of the wheels iv done
