Help Please F22 with H23 head ECU ???
I did some searching and didnt come up with much, I see that it is possible to put a H23 head on a H22 block. We have one here at the shop, problem is we ARE NOT a performance shop, we are a repair shop that specializes in repair of unmodified vehicles so my techs are not used to dealing with this sort of issue and frankly have no desire to.
Here is the issue, the car is failing emissions really bad, its running rich, SO since it is 2.2L of displacement with a ECU in the car mapped for a 2.3L it is dumping too much fuel, I suppose is the main issue anyway, all other sensors work and test good. does anyone know if we can install the 2.2 comp from the SOHC prelude. This prelude came with a 2.3, so I didnt know if the 2.2 ECU would plug in and maybe fix the fuel map issue.
Thanks for any help.
AGAIN I SEARCHED, may have been able to do better but I am pressed for time to get the customer answers and the car returned.

you could plug the f22 ecu in and go with that, but you dont really know what on earth has been done to the engine. might even want to send the customer somewhere else that wants to deal with messes like that.

yeah really, that could be a bad deal to get involved in, mostly though my questioning was for curiosity, and I may tell the customer what "they" can try. I am going to send the car back the way it came in and refer them to a performance shop.
but the more I know about the better just for learnings sake.
