Quick Question Bout My MPFI Swap
Im following the write up on the angelfire site and i noticed that it says to just use the dx wire harnes and that the si harness is harder to use. why is that? i have the si harness and i dont wanna buy the dx harness if i dont have to. i just got rid of the old dx harness that was in my '89 crx dx. will the si harnees still work following the steps that are on the site? if anyone could please help it would be greatly appreciated.
the whole point of using the DX harness is because all you really need to do is add a couple wires for your injectors and you are done.
if you want to use the Si harness you need to swap out the whole kit and kaboodle.
the write up you want to follow does not explain how to swap harnesses but rather tells you how to update your DPFI harness

what do you mean swap out the whole thing? like the dash harness and engine harness? here's the thing. this swap came out of a '90 civic hatch dx and put into a '89 crx dx. it should just be plug and play right? the hatch was running before pulled.
does anyone know a write up on how to convert to multipoint using the si harness?

what do you mean? its a complete b16a swap out of a running '90 civic dx. the motor ran fine when pulled... the only code it was throwing was an o2 sensor code. as far as i know its the si engine harness.
i was just trying to double check all the wiring and make sure evrything was legit and the only write up i found was the dx harness one.
all the wiring on the engine and ecu match up to the write up. does that mean im running the dx harness?
im lost...

if it came out of a dx then it is prolly a dx harness swaped to an si harness i guess you could say. if it came out of a dx then you should be smooth sailing.... good luck
If the donor car is a DX, it most likely has its original DX harness that has been modified like all the write-ups describe. If your swap came with that engine harness, you should be able to use it to replace the harness in your 89 DX. You'll still have to run wires through the firewall to your ecu, though. So get those out of the donor car, too... ecu pins and all. If your swap doesn't come with the engine harness, you will have to do the dpfi to mpfi swap you are reading about. An Si harness is only used for harvesting connectors, it doesn't get installed into the DX chassis... unless you want to do your swap the hard way.
