i'm in the process of building my motor looking to make 650+ but i'm to the point where the machine work is pretty much done and i'm trying to decide wich main and rod bearings to run the guy who is building my engine wants to run factory honda bearings through the whole motor rods and mains does anybody have any suggestions on bearings that you've used with this much WHP just looking for pros and cons thanks guys...

 

Who is doing the motor?

Nothing wrong with OEM.

I switched over to ACL race bearings for this year. Figured I'd give them a shot.

oem honda is ok , they a very precise if done right / acl ..never had a problem

 

I've had good luck with OEM, and ACL

 

From what I gather, as long as you have the right size bearings you should have no issues, with ACL or OEM.

 

mario is building the motor just wanted a lil input on goods and bads with the oem bearings but noone has any bad things 2 say so i guess i'll runn them thanks guys

 

Mario.... oh boy. Good luck with that. I'm not his biggest fan.

I though he swears by King Motorsports bearings.... at least that is what he told me. lol

I personally would go somewhere else.

Tepid. What do you have against Mario? Have you ever had him do work for you? I don't know of any motor that he has built that has had issues. He built my motor and I had zero issues with it.

 

After speaking with him he didn't seem too confident in his work. He flat out told me that he has no experience with high HP honda blocks like I was looking for. That's all I needed to hear.

I appreciate you introducing me to him, but as I told you before I had to pass.

His offer was good though.

 

i have 2 stand up for mario 2 tho of all the **** i've seen go through that shop and all the motors he built i've never seen anything comeback or anyone with a complaint. his lack of high horsepower builds does'nt mean he dont know what hes doing hes very precise in what he does its still in the back of my mind that he has'nt had any expeirence, thats why i asked who u used but i trust him 100%

 

There are many different things to concider while building a high HP motor. If he is unaware of that then I guess you know what to expect.... right?
