Brakes throwing sparks
I'm not quite sure if this is a good thing or not...
I have a 11" 4-pot Fastbrakes.com Wilwood setup, and I do a lot of aggressive mountain driving. I'm using the Wilwood PolyMatrix D type pads, marketed as a club sport, performance street pad...
Tonight, after a particularly hard 9/10ths run down a steeper road, threshold braking along at most braking zones, it eventually got hot enough to throw not just a few sparks, but a fountain of them! This is according to a buddy of mine who was driving a few seconds behind me.
My question is... what does this tell me about my brakes/pads/disc? I haven't a clue what it does, except totally ruin my quest in keeping my car a sleeper...

Heheh... We're going to try and get it on videotape... I'm not sure if photos would do it justice...
I think it's just the metallic particles from the pads coming out, causing the sparking...
It's odd though--the rotor looks pretty much ok, and is the same thickness as before! I would have thought the rotors would be toast by now!

If you're in around Frederick (FRNX), you may even see me one night. It's a sweet ride from Darnestown to Frederick on 28/85. Deers suck, however.
Bedding in Carbotechs on a country backroad late at night is pretty entertaining.
