H22A ECU EG Question.
First I'd like to say sorry if this as been answered before, I searched everywhere for a few days to no avail.
OK this is my question:
I am swaping in a H22A into my 92 EG. I will be getting Type-S pistons for a little more compression, maybe new cam gears bust most likley stock with stock cams and maybe stock intake manifold, if not i'm going with skunk2.
I will be running hondata s300, and I want to know about the ECU.
Whats with all this chipping the ECU and all, I can't just have a virgin p28 and throw hondata on it and tune it like that. I don't understand why you need to chip it?
So the main question is can I just throw in a virigin p28 and put hondata on it? Or Do I need a chipped p28 and if so what chip should I get for hondata?

Dont worry about it too much, evey one makes mistakes. Besides the Mod ninjas will be here and move it or delete it.
Good luck on your swap

^^installing the s300
Here's some good info. You still have to modify the ECU in a similar way as when you chip. You have to socket for either, but the s300 is a little different. Definitely have someone else do the install or purchase a setup already in an ECU (what I did) and sell your virgin p28.
