Default Is this nut stripped? Can I still drive the car?

I tried to remove this nut, but it would not come off. It spins around the bolt, but it will not loosen or tighten.

My question is, is it safe for me to leave it the way it is and drive the car for a while until i can get the new part? Would it be ok for me to leave it this way forever? Also, what is that part called so that I can order a new one if I need to?

One of the threads must be stripped. It might be the thread on the nut, so if you can cut / grind the nut off you might find you only need a new nut.

Allen key? What Allen headed fastener would that be? Can't see one in the pics, and can't imagine how, where, why one would be fitted?

the nut isnt "stripped". the balljoint is just loose and spinning. you need to put the allen key inside the open end of the bolt to hold it in place as you torque the nut off. the hole is there, its hard to distinguish in the pic.

its like the top of the shock rod.
