I opened my hood today to clean under it, and there was green stuff splattered all over the engine and the bottom of the hood. It looked like radiator fluid and smelt like it to. What could have caused this? A hole in the hose from resevoir to the overflow, or what else could have gone wrong???

your radiator is cracked, prolly on the top. Mine cracked at 100,000 miles buy one from a parts store and install it yourself, its easy only a 10mm wrench and some plyers and a drain bucket are needed. If you are still un-sure take it to a shop and they will pressure test it for nothing. Get another plastic one, they sell a metal one, but they last 100,000 miles and the plastic one is lighter.

 

Fo sheazy... mine did too at like 110,xxx. That damm fluid got all over my bay. It's mos deaf cracked.

 

It could be a hole in the upper radiator hose. Honda radiators do seem to be kinda sucky. I've had to replace one in my old Honda, and friends have had to do the same. My sisters' 93 Accord had a leak a while back...turned out to be a tiny pinhole that would spray out coolant like mad when there was a lot of pressure in the hose. Check your hoses, then check the radiator. Honda radiators usually crack along the plastic housing on the top.

 

My radiator cracked along the top of the tank almost all the way across. Some kid with a permit ( ) drove my car at a HT meet and my car overheated. Luckily there was no permanent damage.

Now I have to shell out more cash to fix this damn car.
