First off the title of this thread is a touch mis-leading.

A cam gear just putting it on won't add any power. You might get a tiny bit of power on a dyno messing with it but cam gears really have mostly fallen out of favor.

If you are looking to add some more power to your sohc, why not a cam

^^^ why cam gears are still good ^^^

But yea... lots of other places to look at in a ZC before a cam gear for power.

I didn't know Jeff still backs gears, I've heard a few people won't even put your car on the rollers if you have them.

Evans is god. But if you think about it.... using stock cams that have a decent amount of valve event overlap in vtec.... dialing the intake back a touch and exhaust ahead a touch (especially on FI applications) lets less of the boost "blow out" of the exhaust valve... thus the tremendous amounts of torque he gets from the same boost numbers.

Learning is fun

I heard you get the best power benefits, like if you have an after market cam, or I think it was you need one if you have an after market cam. iono. but I have an after market cam and I was thinking about getting one; does anyone know which are better, the AEM ones or BDL industries? I have the BDL cam. But also the BDL cam gears, I can't find anywhere.
