Replaced shifter bushings, now my transmission rings
I put the car up and exchanged the shifter bushing on the transmission side of the shifter extension arm for a new Energy Suspension bushing, and now all of a sudden I am hearing a rattling coming from my shifter.
I raised the car back up and checked to make sure I had bolted everything right (it was only one bolt that needed to be removed and I put it back to stock torque) so I have no clue what could be rattling.
The inner metal sleeve that sits between the bushing and the bolt fit snugly in the OEM bushing, but it is slightly loose on the ES bushing. Could this possibly be rattling against the bolt? If so, how do I stop this? The sleeve is not a perfect cylinder, looking from the top it looks like a C, not an O, so should I just try and expand the sleeve with a screwdriver or pliers or something like that? Or is there something else I could be missing?
