Default i need air conditioning in my car, but don have much $!

i just picked up a 99si and it doesn't have a/c, but i need it for where i live, actually, its not just something you can go without here haha.. but im a student and don't have much money. i'm looking for the 'cheapest' way to get ac in my car.. i'm guessing going to a junkyard would be my best bet but i wouldn't know how to install it .. anyone know how long it would take for an install at a shop so i have a ballpark figure.. any help on the subject is greatly appreciated

u can find the ac parts from junk yard or from local people. i bought my entire ac set up from junk yard. local people..took me a while to gather all the parts and only costs me less than $150 with everything. but then i had to have a ac shop to vacume and recharge the ac system for like $100

lol this is funny.

go check your local junk yard. Any civic other than CX and DX should have A/C.
I believe they only go for like $150. Maybe i am wrong.

no money = no fun

installing A/C isn't that hard. It just takes some time to do it.

i have a 95 dx with a/c. check you local craigslist. http://www.craigslist.org then your state and closest city. go to parts and look. most times people parting out a car will practically give it away.

Considering that you have a 1999 Civic Si, you should have all the plumbing for A/C. Do you have the second radiator (condenser)? Do you have a pump on the front of your block that's missing a belt? Do you have the silver hardlines?

Engine bay pic is a must before I can help you any more.

sounds like the prev owner removed it am I right? I know that the 96-00 hx,lx,ex, and si all have a/c and also some cx/dx have it too but it's an option on those models.

i dont know if it was removed, where the button is for AC is just a blank piece of plastic covering it, looks stock though so i dont think it was removed.
