GSR Revving Problem w/ pics + video
I got my GSR to start after being swapped in my EJ6. It tached up to 7k rpm once but then its doing this. Acting almost like my rev limiter is at 3k rpms. I am trying to go over all my vaccume lines to make sure they are in the right place. This is what the issue is. this diagram tells me that my EVAP box has 3 ports. Mine only has 2. Leaving me with a vaccume line disconnected. Any ideas?

The CEL comes on only when the car is running. When I shut the car off it goes off. I tried doing the paperclip and count the flashes but it does not come on when the ECU does the pre-check.

ur ecu is in limp mode....there too many problems with the motor so the ecu kinda shut down as a safe mode and only rev to 3000 rpms....ur check engine light is on find out what codes ur throughing....my guess is u might have the iacv and the air intake temp clips on the harness plug in wrong, switch them see if theres a change. to get the ecu out of limp mode u must fix all the problems with it...
disconnect the battery to reset the ecu and it will be out of limp mode for a min or 2 until u fix the problem

Your video link doesnt work. But that little vac will get you up to 2k max. If your reving to 7k you have a TB problem. For that port just cap it and youll be fine.
For the code, run the car and when the code turns on jump it then. Its not a serious code because it goes off. So its probably something simple, like o2 sensor.

his link works fine i just watched it.....he should just plug up the tb vaccum hoses. i know mine just a b16 but u don't need evap to make the car run. i have a skunk2 68 mm tb and there are no vaccum hoses on it.. just fpr hose...and yes i know he needs vaccum to run the butterflies in the mani but he doesn't need the evap.

No, When I first started the car it was like 20 degrees out so it idled around 2800-3k, once it got warmed up I tached it to 7k RPM Once and then it immediately did what its doing now..

just disconnect the battery for about 30 secs.....then hook it back up, if the ecu resets there should be no check engine light for about 30 sec. if the problem remains it will come back on. once a code triggers the ecu saves it until its reset. as long as the car idles without hoping, or falling flat on its face. vaccum shouldn't be a problem. but becuz it is a gsr motor the butterflies might not open. cover ur tb with ur hand to make sure theres no air getting by, if the motor stays running u have a vaccum problem. it should choke out and die. i remeber when i put my b16 in my coupe i was hooking up the harness and i had the idle air control valve and air intake temp and some plug that i didn't even need it was for evap. the plugs are the same for all 3 but i only need 2 of the 3, and i had them hooked up in the wrong spot. also make should ur tps and map plugs are not backwards.[QUOTE=98CivB18C]

the plug here in ur pic isn't hooked up, this is one of the ones i had gotten wrong when i first started.

i would say you have a few plugs mixed up on the back of your intake and mostly the 1 sensor to make you go into to limp mode is the iacv behind the intake there should be a 2 wire plug one with a yellow wire and the other black with a blue line
