I have plenty of friends w/ them, they have nothing but the highest praises for the bike, it's a sweet machine. The GSX-R750 that is.. don't get the DUCK.

i highly doubt you'll find a ducati 748 for under 6k. if you do tell me about it, but a gixxer is a reallly good bike, probably the best in the 750 class, in my opinion, besides for the higher end ducatis.

Near $6K for a 199x, eh? Wow, so I guess I should jump on the 2000 GSXR 750 for $4K then. :onders some more::

Duc.. even though it will cost you more in repairs.. you can't beat the sound of a dry clutch as you pull up to the hangout... it kinda says "hey, it's Italian and yes I have almost no money left to buy the girl a drink, but I look cool"....

I'd get the Ducati, mostly because I prefer v-motors (V4, vtwins) to inlines in motorcycles. Also, every squid and their brother has a GSXR...I prefer to be a little more individualistic

well.....

i went to the local Ducati shop today at lunch... and i sat on a brand new 2001 748s, it is an awesome bike, and i think i will probably get it. i am in love with the L twin motor and the ducati's are unbeatable in my opinion for their mix of handling, power, and how fun they are to ride.

i know that the gsx-r is faster in a straight line, and i bet its handling is almost as good.. or maybe as good... but the ducati is a DUCATI and i think it is a very well engineered bike with QUALITY components from the factory...

but i think i should be comparing the 748 to the gsx-r 600

Yeah, when they first came out a few years back, they were being compared to the 600's in the mags.

Well, if I got a chance to finally own a bike like I always wanted to, you can call me a stunna all you want.

It's good you got the bike you wanted, but you misinterpreted my statement to mean that EVERYBODY who rode a crotch rocket was a stunna, which isn't true, of course.

For the price, I would get the gixxer too, but if money didnt matter... of the two choices, I would get the Ducati...

Ive never ridden the duc748 or the gsx-r but from what i know, and what i see, id choose the Ducati
One reason is cause i kinda want to be original. i dont like seeing people riding the same motorcycle every few minutes.

Also, ive always wanted the ducatii 996sps (Like im gonna ever be able to afford it)

Ducati's suck. You get WAY more bike for your $$ with the gixxer. Not to mention the gixxer has about 30 hp at the wheels on the italian piece of poop. Gixxer's are a good buy.

Ducati
Suzuki

Ok they are good if you like high maintenance, overpriced, slow, rattling bikes.
My fault.

to each their own. its friday... go enjoy some after a ride.

I agree 100%. But i am not a stunna. I don't like to have to work on my bike more then i ride it. Like a crap Ducati. I almost bought a Ducati, but my friend bought a brand new 996, at the time, and all it did is break down or when it "ran right" was slow as hell. I am more of a suzuki man myself, but a local dealership took care of me on a new R1. This is my 9th bike and i have tons of miles on bikes. Guys buy Ducati as a status symbol. Not because they want the best machinery. Stunna bike or not, its still a hell of a weapon.
