Default Problem with my jdm h22a!

The crankshaft pulley on my 94 Si backed off i replaced the crankshaft and bolt because it was beat up, had a shop put it back into timing and it wouldnt start so they diagnosed it as bent valves i ripped apart my h22 and removed the cylinder head. is it normal that all the valves are closed 1 and 4 pistons are at tdc. none of the valves look bent any other suggestions?

Did you bother to do a compression test before tearing it apart?

if a valve is bent, it will not seal, thus no compression. If you have adequate compression across all 4, your problem lies elsewhere.

Where is it found and how could you check it, my prelude will be 10 next year so I should keep an eye on it, or i might replace it now.

did they check timing before just diagnosing bent valves?

that right there proves the shop's credibility is

i wouldn't trust them to know if the timing is correct either
