Default gsr in ls.

i have an 94 ls integra. and i bought a 95 gsr long block with no intake manifold and i was wondering if the type r manifold will bolt up to the gsr head. i thought it did until i saw 2 people post that it could but it has to be modified. is this true??

also, can i use my ls header and cat or do/can i use gsr header with ls cat??

thanks

the type R manifold will NOT fit on a GSR head.

(type R) single runner dual runner (GSR)

oh, if you want an ITR manifold on your GSR head, you'll have to buy a skunk2 one - it's the same design but it fits.

but does anyone know about my other question

no the type r manifold will not fit, you have to get the skunk 2 manifold.

Single short runners like the type R will give more top end power.

Longer runners like the LS manifold gives more low end power because of proper swirling mixing of the air/fuel mixture at lower rpms.

The GSR dual runners will give the best of both worlds and have a very nice midrange. That's why the GSRs have such a flat torque curve. However, because it is essentially still a dual "long" runner even when the butterflies open for the air to shortcut into the short runner directly to the head, the GSR manifold runners have too much surface area = extra friction = less air flowing to head at high rpms = not so great top end like the type R but more midrange and low end.

Hope that helped

yes it will. My car is an 4 door LS with a GSR motor. for a while i was using my LS header and cat.didnt have to modify the b-pipe at all. now i have a 5zigen header for a Type R and test pipe. still didnt have to modify my b pipe at all. any questions just ask away.

Actually the ITR will not be a direct fit but you can modify it so that it will fit the gsr head. For the money u might as well get the skunk2 mani.
