Default gasoline problem!!

hey guys. i have a 98 civic ex and i barely put in a replacement engine after like 8 to 9 months of being in me driveway. my problem is that it wont start because of lack of fuel. I aint getting none to my fuel rail or my lines. i even disconnected the line before the pump and still no fuel. the funny thing is that i can hear the pump turn on but nothing else happens. i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem, or what can anyone recommend me on doing. any help is appreciated.!!!!

still can be the fuel pump just cause its running doesntm ean its pumping.. or maybe fuel filter or your line is clauged somewhere. if your car has been sitting for awhile you most likely have some build up. or could be your fuel filter.

Your fuel tank is empty (unlikely) or the line from the tank to the pump is obstructed.

yes, at first i thought that the lines might be pluggled but u know how the pump has a it's housing and there is a little piece of line coming from the tank to where you connect a line that has a quick disconnect! well i disconnected the line from there but there is no gas coming from there so my problem probably inside to where the pump is. but i first wanted to know if it was possible for the pump to just not pump even after turning on??? or if there can be another reason for it not getting gas?

well i put in about 5 gallons of fuel so that is no problem but i haven't checked the line from the tank to the pump. but can that line really get plugged because it is just a tiny piece maybe only a couple inches long.

If the simple possibilities I mentioned are ruled out then, as mentioned by advan414, the pump could be faulty.

yeah i quess he's right but one last thing lets say that i check the line and it is clear of any obstruction. is there any way of checking the pump out of the tank to see if it is the actual pump that is faulty?
