Is Three Inch Exhaust really worth it?

i have a 89 Lude and i posted a topic on cheap loud exhaust but never really got a good response...
If i put 3 inch exhaust on and a glass pack on, but pon;t get bigger itake manifolds would it sound loud or nice???????
i dont kno anything really so jus help me out...
i have been thinking about a glass pack for a long time since they are jus 20 bucks.... but should i get a cherry bomb turbo muffler instead or something???
with 3 inch exahsut?????

You get what you pay for. $20 performance parts don't really sound too promising. Unless you have an H22 or are boosting, 3" is too big. The sound depends on the muffler. Glasspacks on a Honda sound like a weed eater on Maalox.

What good would a 3 in exhaust be anyway if he doesn't either remove or upgrade the cat, along with the exhaust manifold. If you are going to increase the size, you should at least do something about the restrictions in the cat. Like Acidcrakker stated, with a tune it can make power, but without a tune and on a stock engine <-(I'm assuming), I would not go higher than 2.5in.

ok so don't get 3'' exhaust? i have a stock 89 lude i dont kno what engine but i dont have a turbo. so what about 3" with no cat and a glass pack or cherry bomb turbo? and stock manifolds.

come on bro. glass packs on a HONDA!!! cherry bombs and packs are for rat rods man. and yes, 3" exhaust should really only be used if yur runnin turbo. get rid of all of it. get yurself some 2 1/4" piping and a nice es tuning muffler or a thermal r&d....

Damn this thread got out of control. Dude, if you really want it loud and aren't concerned about power use the cherry bomb and run 3 in exhaust. Your cat is going to be restrictive but it will still be loud. It is going to sound like a giant pissed off bumble bee stuck in a coffee can.
