Default Amp hooked up, but not working? *Help!*

ok so I installed an amp and sub in a 6th gen Accord today and here:

1. connected the power to the battery with the inline fuse and connected to the amp *check*

2. remote wire connected to the blue with white line behind the deck *check*

3. rca connected to the (sw) outputs at rear of deck *check*

4. rca connected to the amp *check*

5. ground cable bolted to the seat belt bolt *check*

6. ground connected to the amp *check*

7. speaker wires connected (check)

now, the problem is when all connected as previously stated above the amp does not even light up (has a led that shows power is on)

But, when i disconnect one of the rca plugs and just touch the amp case I get power and random bass......????wtf

this system/set up used to work on a previous car the only diff's are the wires.

-could it be the rca cables?

fyi. its a 2channel amp and a single 12inch sub JL

thanks for any advice

How's that seatbelt bolt you grounded to? Nice & rusty & corroded?

Have you verified with a meter or test light that you're getting 12v at the main power wire at the amp and that you get 12v when you turn the deck on?

What do you mean touch the amp case? Touch it with what? Do you have access to a volt/ohm meter? Have you tried using another ground source? Have you ensured that none of your power or speaker wires are shorting to each other?
