Default cluster help.

91 ef si.

i took off the cluster to tighten some loose screws. I also proceeded to tighten all the screws on the back of the actual cluster.

Now i went to put it back on everything works besides the temp/gas gauges.

Temp is all the way down and gas is all the way up...

Everything else works. I checked fuses and connections..

Any ideas!

The temperature and fuel gauges are a single unit. Maybe you should try loosening up the screws that you tightened on this unit:

Remove the temperature/fuel gauge unit and carefully inspect it for shorted or broken wires. Also inspect the ground wires (A6 & B3; see picture) at the A and B connectors.

Thanks bro i took it apart and the the wires were all ripped, because the screws thats i tightend they caught the wires inside and twisted them up.
Now i need a new cluster, or the fuel/temp unit.

To save money, try calling some local salvage yards to see if they have a used gauge assembly or fuel/temperature gauge unit.

Yea ima go to the pick a part tommrow.
Cant beilive the locking nuts that hold in the plastic were broken, thats why the screws were loose, and thats why it was turning the whole bolt which the wires are connected to.
Thanks for the help man appreciate it.
