Default WHICH DISTRIBUTOR IN 98 CIVIC HATCH, WITH OBD0 LS 1.8 MOTOR?

Okay I have a 98 civic hatch and it has an obd0 LS motor in it, car runs, but there is a distributor issue. The obd0 distributor will not work with my obd1 ecu, also the obd2 distributor that I had on my b16 doesn't bolt up to the LS motor with all 3 bolts.

I'm guessing I need a 96-01 integra 1.8 distributor, but does it have to be an LS, or will a GSR one work as well?

The problem seems to be the location of the cam notch in relation to the rotor is causing some retarded timing and making the motor stutter.

no offense, but bumping ever 2 hours will not usually help on Honda-Tech.

No, the GSR one will not work to my knowledge, as its a Vtec Dizzy so it is setup differently at least for OBD0 and OBD1 applications.

obd2a LS distributor should be plug and play.

will the obd2a distributor provide the same base timing as the obd0 one did?

what are you talking about. You set the base timing with a timing light/gun.

because the obd0 distributor mounts in location X, and vtec obd2 distributor doesn't have the same mounting spots, so its mounted at location Y, and I want to know if an obd2 nonvtec distributor mounts in the same location X such that the orientation of the rotor and cap are the same, so that base timing can be adjusted in the same range.

pretty sure that's what rice is nice is wondering as well.

I already said....the OBD2A LS distributor will bolt up. It is not like a VTEC distributor. It's an LS.....honda didn't change the casting of the head just because it changed the on board diagnostic system.
