Quality security install of a different sort in NJ
Hey guys my friend is looking to get either a 50.5 or a 5900 with all the bells and whistles installed CORRECTLY in a 1993 fd (mazda rx7). Where's a good place to go for a propper stealth installation?
In an fd?
its really all the same, find a "creative" place to put the brain,
tap into the wires neatly, make everything look OEM with black tightly wound electrical tape... and split loom....
hide the sirens and extra sensors.
make sure you include a battery backup.
and your done >.>
if you have never done it, takes about a day in the car, and about a half a day with the parts and setting it all up to be installed...

Stealth and remote start are basically mutually exclusive. I have attempted to combine the two with very limited success (on some cars I've put the brain behind the gauge cluster).
Remote start has bulky wiring and modules that MUST be connected at the ignition harness. This makes the alarm or at least it's wiring plainly obvious.
Remote start requires many more wire connections than a regular alarm, and these connections are spread out over the vehicle. Each alarm wire is a trail back to the alarm and a single wire by itself, even if taped over or split loomed, looks conspicuous.
Remote start requires that there be NO kill switches or external start kills in operation. This is the death blow of my stealth vs remote start argument.
Any mid nineties Japanese car lends itself to stealth install. I have done many Nissan drift cars, and I'm pretty sure there may have been an RX7 or two mixed in there. For some reason I often confuse the two, much to my own embarrassment.
AFAIK, WRX-Killer / Precision Mobile in LA is the only place I know of doing stealth installs. But I have to confess that I've never seen any of his installs.

I'm sorry apparently my post was a bit misleading. The car will utilize all the bells and whistles except the remote start. Also is the Viper branded gps interchangeable with the Clifford one? I suspect they are because they are both DEI but I just wanted to make sure.

Yes, you can use the Viper and/or Clifford GPS with any combination of alarms. It does not even have to be a DEI alarm but it makes the install allot easier as it connects to the alarm through the bitwriter port.
