ok. i've got a '99 ek with the stock d16y7. now when i first got the car, i was being stupid and wanted to show of in front of some friends i rev'd the car up and let off the clutch, when that happened i heard a nasty popping noise coming from the passenger side tire. after that the car has been whabbly and it makes a really weird squiky noise. kinnda like an old rockin chair type sound.
now i jacked up the car and removed the tire and the cv boot was torn. i started the car, put it in gear and just let everything turn freely. the axle was spinning and still made the same sound. after a couple spins the axle stopped and you could still tell that the transmission was still spinning but the axle wasnt.
i'm not sure were to go from here. is something wrong with my tranny? or do i just need to replace my cv axle?

Well first you need to fix the CV joint. The car is not under any load so it may not make noise. But from a obvious standpoint... fix your CV joint and you should be fine... granted you could not find anything else wrong.
Also remember your car does not have LSD or anything.. so both wheels may not spin at the same time when in the air.
Buy a book for your car like a Helms or a Haynes at least. Read and inform yourself as much as you can
