hello, i own a 93 accord ex 4-door, redish maroon color (whatever they call it) with the usual attractive wheel well rust on both sides...im set to get the rust fixed 2 weeks from now. its gonna run me around $400, my paint is still in relatively good condition, but it does have its usual scratches, chips etc. acquired from the 9 years i've owned it. the body shop is gonna have to repaint the back panels anyways after fixing the rust, so i figured i should get the whole damn thing repainted....what should i be looking at for a reasonable price for the rust removal and complete paint job? not that it matters, but i was hoping to go with a metallic silver....thanks for posts.

 

My '94 was quoted at $2000 for the same job but with rust one only one fender.

You can find it cheaper, though. But usually you get what you pay for.

 

2 grand huh....did you get the rust fixed or the paint job done?

 

Just FYI, there are places that will repair chips and scratches without repainting the entire panel for at least half the cost of a full repaint. If the place you're taking your car to has to repaint the entire panel just to fix the rust at the wheel well, they're taking you for a ride because it doesnt have to be done that way.....unless they dont have the techs who know how to color match and blend.
