Default NRG Thin QR is frustrating me right now.

ok... how the HELL do you detach the NRG Thin QR?!?!?!?

i've tried to find FAQ on forums/google.

i couldn't find any instructions on how to use it.

my common sense is, you press the button, and twist..... right?

not workin for me.

it is easier when you have it mounted. The release is based off the FET design.

push the button, twist the base (gray piece in pic 1...pull the steering side .

the thing is.... i cannot mount the momo hub to the quick release without detaching the quick release.

reason why i need to detach it now is so i can attach the hub to the release.

if going by picture 2, push the release button, turn the base clockwise while turning the steering wheel counter clockwise and pull steering wheel off. it is not that difficult.

I say take it off and replace it with a regular quick release. Those things have play and are garbage as far as I'm concerned. Good luck with it either way though.....

Your steering wheel bolts might be too long, I ran into this with mine. Loosen them up a little and see if it unlocks...

Mine had play in it too, even before it cracked and became a $80 paperweight

hey perfect timing. How does the Thin QR compare with a Slim Hub? Is it closer to OEM? or Really close to the dash?

i dunno how it compares to the slim hub.

ahaha.

sorry.

i just got a momo hub with it.

well of course, but FET is discontinued and i couldnt find any.

so i messed around with the QR for a little bit. where the button is, theres an allen screw. i loosened that and the button along with a spring shot out. after that happened, i was able to detach the fu*king QR. now after evaluating the button, i found that the button and spring were fu*king useless. it did nothing but blocked the QR from detaching. so uh... yeah....

ok!

so i messed with it even more, and FINALLY got it to work. it seemed to me like the button had a slight failure before i unscrewed the allen screw. now it works....

thanks to those who helped.

also, its my birthday today.
march 10.

yay me.

hahaa.
