Time for a new clutch?
I noticed over the past week or so that when I shift, the clutch sometimes does not grab like it used to. Also, twice today when I went to put it into 2nd gear, it felt like I could not put it in gear correctly right away, but after a second or two it went it.
My tranny never grinds, and there are no problems besides what is mentioned above. Could this be my clutch, or possibly something else?
If so, did anyone hear of the Sach's clutch kits? I can get one with a discount through my job for fairly cheap, and from what I heard they are pretty good clutches. Just want to know if anyone has any personal experience with them. Remember, this is on a completely stock car that I drive very conservatively, rarely sees about 3.5k rpm.
Also, what labor cost (ballpark range) am I looking at for clutch installation?
Thanks in advance if you take the time to answer any of my questions.

It feels kind of like a slipping, but I have honestly been lucky so far and never had a clutch go bad before. Therefore, I do not know for sure if it is the "slipping" feeling that most people refer to.
The car is a stock 2000 Civic Cx, 92k on it. I'm almost positive the clutch has never been changed on it.

Well from what your saying about it not having any grinding issues and stuff i would say you need a new clutch. As of the clutch you were asking about i never heard of them, but if your looking for just an OEM replacment just about any type with a warrenty will do.
That's what I figured, and from the customers at work, I hear Sach's is pretty good. As stated previously, I do not drive hard at all, and it has a 106 hp motor, so nothing crazy is needed.
I would still like to hear personal experience from the Sach's kits, so hopefully someone will chime in.
As far as labor for this job, can someone give me a general idea of what I will be looking to pay?

get the sachs clutch im getting one this week. some of there stuff is really expensive but oe isnt that bad. i would rather go with sachs than duralast or some crap from autozone..clutch installation can run upwards of 600. tranny has to come out. make sure they resurface your flywheels

to test to see if your clutch is slipping go to like 2nd gear, while rolling at about 3K RPM, start braking and floor it, if the RPMS don't drop like it should then its time for replacement.
Sachs is nice, installed a kit from them on my jetta. Never had an issue with it and not many people that were VW modding in my area baught anything other that sachs.
