your opinions on rims please
hey guys I don't know if I should keep 17" rims or upgrade to 18"? I have a white FA. Is there a big difference when driving? I heard with 18" the ride isn't as smooth and performance wise 17" would be best.
If i get 18's I'd have to lower my car.

lowering the car on 17's looks better to me IMO.
the bigger the rim usually the thinner the tire. and the thinner the tire, the more bumpier it tends to me.
if you're worried about ride quality, i'd def go with the 17's. but i would go with 17's regardless because it just looks better to me

I think 18s would look pretty good on an FA. You're not really gonna lose too much in performance unless you get solid chrome wheels...(which you better not or I will personally buy a plane ticket to your town and shove a sledgehammer up your ***).
.
And if you go with a thick enough profile on the tires you shouldn't feel anything drastic in terms of ride comfort reduction. A nice 225/40/18 tire will do just fine.
With 18s I would lower your car a little bit.....but not too much.
You gotta remember that there's more to handling than just wheel size. There's suspension component upgrades, camber adjustments, etc. Upgrading your wheel size isn't gonna kill your handling by any means.

LOL! you're crazy RICO ! in a good way thats why I like you. I have 18's and it lifted the car a little, enough that is was noticable when driving. I have comtech springs that will help with the lift, but I am going back to 17's this spring. I like my 18's but think 17's are better for our SI's. thats just me! good luck and post some pics
OP,
The diameter of a 225/40/18 tire vs. the stock tire size of 215/45/17 is about 1/2 inch greater. So it will raise the car very slightly.
Dropping it will give it a much more aggressive stance and reduce that ugly fender gap.
