Default Misfire in all 4 and sometimes dies

Okay have a 4th gen h22a

Misfires about 5 minutes into a drive and CEL Blinks on.
Went to advance they said misfire in all 4 cylinders.

replace sparks plug with ngk with gapping a .044.
At first had it at .039, had to re-gap.

But it runs smooth its just misfires and CEL blinks on.

Maybe replace wires.
Need help

Is it okay to drive if it misfires?

That's a timing issue. do you have a timing light? if you do this wont cost much.

Thinking about taking it to the dealer. would a timing issue cause the car to randomly drop in rpms.

Check your cap and rotor. If it drives fine for the first 5 mins(then it misfires when its warm I asume)

ok i have an idea, ive been reading around on this fantom missfire and bogging down under vtech and at light throttle, if your runnig a fpr then try putting an additional check valve in the fuel line, it normaly happend to me under hot soak and restart, never cold. Im thinking the fuel is being vaporized and its taking to long to refill the lines and rail, just a thought, Ill let you know how it works for me.

That sounds like you got some misinformation somewhere. If fuel was being vaporized you would know.

I got the same problem now. I recently changed my cap and rotor(oem), msd wires, and denso iridum plugs. My car didnt misfire till recently. I check the rotor and plugs, everything looks fine. The plugs should be pre-gapped. When idle the check engine blinks but driving it stays on. I'm going to hook it up to a scanner today.

Replaced the ignition switch. it was bad! It stop the crazy rpm and the dieing at stop light. Doesnt blink no more.

Now my cel Popped on again like a hour after... Going to advance tomorrow to check.

Maybe misfire

i have kind of the same problem... misfires on cyl 1 and cyl 4... cel blinks when car is idleing and stays on when im driving.. car runes fine.. just theres more vibrations when the cel is blinking (since of the misfireing i guess) i got new sparkplugs today but that didnt solve anything.. on cyl 4 the sparkplug was all in oil... spoke with my mechanic he said it could be from the valve cover gasket.. im going to change that..

btw, is it okay to drive the car like this?

Buy a new coil, install it...and if it doesn't fix the problem just return it and say you never used it because you figured out what was wrong. Most places won't let you return used electrical components.

I've seen many problems like this, due to a bad coil. I'd this before dropping money at the dealer or ripping in to your cylinder head.
