Starting the car without axles ?
Hi, I recently ordered a JDM obd0 b16A swap and I will check for compression prior install.
I was thinking that I could start it up without putting the axles, just to see that the engine works. I wont put tranny fluid on the transmission of course and my shifter will be left on neutral. Im not lazy I just wanna save time on installing and removing axles if the engine is bad.
If I the engine starts fine and is not knocking then I will shut it down and install the remaining (pumps / axles / air filter )

Thats fine......i did the same with my b16
Don't forget to add your motor fluids though
I had no axles and no fluid in the tranny but i was able to run the engine and adjust everything before installing the new axles and fluid

dont let it run for any length, its ok to just start it up and see that it works, but if there is no fluid in the transmission remember that one shaft is still spinning in the transmission and the bearings dont like no lube.
