well I been reserching and found out that skunk2 lowering springs provide a 2.2in drop in the front and 2in drop in the back. Mean while Tein is only provides 1.4 to 1.8 (front to rear) why?????? I want my car to look droped not semi ddroped . ANY PICS anyone Help???

 

My friend has the tein lowering springs on his 00 4dr civic and those springs doesnt seem like it didnt do squat to his lowering height.. And i perfer H&R race or sport lowering springs. Check those bad boys out!

I would recommend KONI Yellow shocks with Ground Control coilovers/or skunk2 coilovers

what about the skunk2 pro s setup?

 

what are you using the car for? You just want it to look slammed...or do you actually want to track it or something?

The SKUNK2 springs are nice..my friend has them on his DD 97 civic. They ride pretty well. I had them as a temporary solution (just for the hell of it) on my S2000 for a little while till I got my KWs. I can't say anything bad about them for the price, really. On ebay, they're like $150 shipped, IIRC.

You probably want to buy some decent dampers (shocks) though.

The Tein is a more conservative drop...which usually translates into a better ride.

I honestly couldn't tell you which one of the two would handle better.

I'm guessing you're just trying to lower your car for a couple hundred bucks?

i had tein spring on my old ek and i like them. my old buddy had skunk2 on his ek i personally i thought it was too low but he did have a spoon lip. but i do have a pic of my ek but i cant figure how to upload it on this post

 

plus one more thing, the lower your car is it is not always better. because if you go to low you then you dont get full travel of your suspension

This is true. However, 92-00 civics were blessed with very good suspension travel and design. The skunk2 springs basically make 205/50/15s flush with the fender on 96-00 civics. Even when the car is that low, the suspension still has good travel as long as you cut the bumpstops accordingly. You probably wont be able to go over any mine fields, but the suspension travel is very reasonable even for moderate bumps and potholes. The ride is also comfortable.

I'm sure that the ride with the teins will be more comfortable, though. I've never ridden on or driven with the tein springs, but I remember them being a pretty soft rate. IIRC, it's like 5k/3k or something.

 

I prefer tein because imo skunk2 is just to bouncy of a ride

......i bought skunk2 struts and they were gonna lower my car even so i didnt install them more so im about to purchase tein adjustable coilover kit

 

If your looking for low and decent travel you need to look into dampners that not only have an adjustable spring perch but ALSO an adjustable shock body as well. I wish I knew about stuff like that when i first starting modding honda's...

The closest you can to an adjustable shock body from Tein is the Type Flex for around $2000

Buddy club offers an excellent complete coilover solution like the Tein Flex but for about $1000 -with- pillowball mounts. Cant beat that. It's well worth the money even if you DD and just like to drive a little aggresively once in a while. Couple that with a larger rear sway bar and you have a go kart.

Do it right the first time around or ...... Don't.

The flex comes with pillowball mounts.

If you pay $2000 for the flex, you just got ROBBED.

You dont need pillowball mounts on a double wishbone or multilink car. They only have an advantage with Mcpherson strut models. It will only make your ride harsher.

 

I currently have the Skunk springs on stock struts on my eg. To say the least, these are quite bouncy...even though I am riding on stock struts, these do not compare to the progress springs I once had before. Would I recommend these springs, maybe...Keep in mind that this was just a temporary solution to lowering my car. Didnt want the 4x4 status

im riding on neuspeeds with stock struts and i enjoy the ride not too bouncy though i wanted to go koni yellows and ground controls for the dumped looked i dont track my car and prolly wont that often

 

My teggy sits on Teins. It's not as much of a drop as skunk2, but believe me....Traveling with Teins is already as hard as it is. Scraping about 50% of everything I drive over. 😂😂😂
