its just a layer that looks cool. Might stop a quick grab. But a well planed out security system will be your best bet.
As mentioned, it would make an OK layer, but there are better layers, that are cheaper and more effective.
Think about this, what are you going to do with the steering wheel when you remove it? It's not like it is something you can put into your pocket.

Yea i want one for just because I liked it
but not sure how much safer if it would make me feel
or how much secure/harder to steal my car would be...
it just kind of just makes the quick release even safer
because a quick release prevents turning without the wheel
but then someone could just put another quick release with a wheel on and be back in business
i'm sure theives know this and probably carry steering wheels with quick releases with them
specially with NRG QRs being so popular and widely used...
the lock just basically prevents this because even if they buy the same hub and a wheel
they don't have the key
(hopefully the keys are different though
)
its kind of like having locking hood pins, wheel locks, an extra hood latch, the jimmy proof door latches, etc i guess
just an annoyance for the theif...
but not a really big obstacle that they can't get around (what really is tho
)
also, putting the wheel in the trunk could help
if you don't want to carry it around with you
which wouldn't be bad if you have a nice wheel
