Default lincoln 3200hd vs. millermatic 140

I need some help choosing a mig. Mainly its gonna be used for body work and around the house projects. At work we have nothing but millers and I love them. I just need a machine for the house. I will also be using gas with either one. Which would you prefer?

since you are familiar with the miller units and love the way they perform then it only makes sense to buy a miller. getting another brand will present a new learning curve setting the amps/wire speed.

another + is that you can get free replacement parts at work ..... J/K NOBODY LIKES LIERS/THIVES

your comparing a home depot version lincoln to a miller
the machine below is a great machine and is the replacement for the SP135plus machine

The nice thing about the lincoln is its adjustability for voltage. You can set it where you want it not presets like the cheaper home depot unit or the miller

They both make good machines but I would purchase the lincoln 140C

Thanks for the quick replies. I didn't know there was such a thing as a home depot version. I looked at that link you posted and the 140c looks pretty good. Yeah I definitely prefer having the adjustability for the voltage rather then presets. I got a quote from our supplier for 650 for the miller, so i am assuming it should be around that for the lincoln.

there is 2 versions of the miller mm140 too, one with the auto-set and the other without it

the miller machine without the auto-set is $635.00 shipped - $50.00 mail-in rebate

if you were going to get one of the auto-set ones just get the hobart 140, basically a rebadged millermatic 140 w/ auto-set at a lower price. Parts are probably the same too since hobart is owned by miller.
