Yes as long as it really is a DX, and NOT a STD model with the 4 speed tranny. People make the common mistake of calling the STD model "DX" when they're not.

Correct, axle input cv joints are the same for all d series but on std models the hubs have a smaller outer cv shaft that fits through the hub. But yeas the trannies are the same deal on the outside.

In your signature It says your g/f has a DX hatch... One question... Is the car 4 speed or 5 speed. It get that out of the way.

Yes you would have to change the hubs also axles. (correct me if im wrong.) (If it is a std model that is)

NO NEED TO CHANGE THE HUBS OR AXLES.

ON THE STD MODEL, YOU CAN SWAP THE SI TRANS IN USING YOUR EXISTING AXLES.

THE INNERS ARE ALL THE SAME SIZE.

No, I guess not. Direct swap in. Never had an std model before. But just swap it in. I was probably mistaken or thinking of the crx HF my bad .

no. the 4spd axles will fit into the 5 speed trans. when you upgrade the brakes, you'll need to change the axles to match.

again, the inners are the same, the outers are whats different.

I'm not sure why someone gave me the hammer icon.

HIS QUESTION WAS ARE THE AXLES THE SAME, NOT WILL STD AXLES WORK WITH AN SI TRANNY

I simply answered his question in that DX axles are the same as Si axles.

I know the inners are the same, and that the outers are different - I owned a 1990 STD hatch that I did MPFI, Zc/Si hybrid trans, etc.

I guess I should have been a bit clearer but for what he needed my post answered his question if the axles were the same or not. I didn't mean to make it look like STD axles won't work with an Si tranny.

He may have needed to replace an axle or both while swapping trannies, so in that respect my post would be much more helpful than "all EF axles will work with an Si tranny swap."
