Default lowering issue, crossmember vs. header

well my car is soon to be completely fixed body wise, and now its time to lower it, my only question is, my aftermarket crossmember hangs fairly low (innovative mounts i think) and if i get a new one then the header (4-1) will be just as low as my current crossmember, so my question is do i keep the crossmember incase it has to take a blow for the header, or do i get one that doesn't hang low and let the header take the blow?

You should be fine....and if I had to make the decision I would deff keep the crosmemeber to protect my header.....esp if its something worthy like a hytech, smsp, rmf etc etc
