Will a Type S ECU pass emissions?
hey jst wanted to give u some updates on ur type s .... im getting my sh swap with type s but its a complete type s swap including ecu n tranny n etc..... i dont c ne problems unless the wiring or something gets messd up.......

More info would be nice, what state you're emission testing in (CA is more restrictive than say TX), what else the car has had done to it (cat removed, etc) before you can get a real response to your question.

Does anyone know if a Type S ECU (JDM) will pass US OBD2 emissions? With no other mods done but the Type S swap.

It depends on your state/county's emissions requirements. Do they just do a visual or do they do a plug in test ? Im not sure about GA but here in Pa it really depends on what county you live in. And also how many miles you drive, under 5k is emissions exempt here so it wouldnt matter if the scanner could communicate.

Emission exemption would be nice. Unfortunately, they do visual and plug-in tests in my county so the biggest problem would be communication with a JDM ECU.
