i have a 93 dx civic coupe

stock d15 non vtech 142xxx

so yesterday i'm driving home and make a u-turn and i hear a real bad clicking noise. so i go and make another one to try and see whats up. the noise only happens when im in 1st or 2nd gear. and doesn't make a sound if i put the clutch in.

i've asked a couple people and they were saying it was my cv's, axles...

anybody else ever had a problem?

 

CV Joint has gone bad...go to your local parts store and just buy some re-manufactured axles..much cheaper and less of a hassle.

do you know about how much its is per axle and how hard it is to remove/install axles on my motor?

about 75 dollars per axle. And its a pretty straight forward change. Should take about 30 mins to an hour. The hardest part is getting your axle nut off.

 

thanks a lot. don't need any specific torque specs or anything? i'llprobably look at a haynes book or get a friend to help me out before i do it

 

i dont remember the torque specs off the top of my head. But they should have it in any manual.
