Default new lca's... got a Q

To break loose the bolt that holds the control arm onto the rear subframe; is it best to have the car jacked up or on the ground? My right side wont budge. just wanted to know the proper way b4 i drive somewhere to get air tools.

It's best to tighten while the car is on the ground, but loosening can be done while the car is up.

But tread very carefully with this one... those bolts are notorious for seizing and if you can't break it loose with hand tools then most likely the bushing collar is seized to the bolt. Air tools will only snap the bolt off faster. I had to physically cut my lower control arms in half to get the trailing arm out of the way, and then spent hours and hours drilling the bolt out. The square nut in the back falls into the subframe and is not accessible from the outside either, so I had to cut a small access window into the subframe to get to it, then patch it back up. Not fun.

My recommendation is that if you are only adding the LCAs for bling then I wouldn't bother with the trouble. If it's for the addition of a rear sway then I wish you luck!

do you need aftermarket LCA's for a rear sway?

Or are we talking about removing the LCA's to add an asr subframe brace?
