Default Rear sway bars on a 88 Civic?

The rear suspension is different than 89-91 and does not have the location for a rear sway bar. Is there a sway bar that exists for 88's? Another option is to swap rear suspensions from a junkwyard 88-91, but then I'll also need new socks. Any ideas?

rear suspension is the same...only the control arms are different, so just swap control arms use a 88 crx si rear bar or suspension techniques rear bar.

If your car was a base model like a 4spd then there will be holes for the swaybar mounting brackets but there will be no nuts welded on the inside(so you can't bolt the bracket up). What you got to do is cut holes from the inside of the car and you will see the point where the brackes mount up to...add nuts and you can bolt up your brackets.

If you don't want to do that then use a type R bar ,make sure to bolt it right through the crossmember (to gas tank side).

If you swap the lower contol arms, you will have to replace the shocks. I think Suspension Techniques makes a bar for the 88 cars

Default What about ITR sway bars?

Someone around here is selling ITR "complete suspension" really cheap. If he has the sway bars, do they both fit on my Civic? He has the lower control arms. Will they work with my shocks? What's the minimum i cna buy to have they Type R sway bars on my car?
