Word of advice, don't say vtech... People will rip your eyes out for that here. The correct acronym is vtec. Why people get mad and chew people out? I don't know. But just do it to avoid the beating.
lol
The D15B is found in:
91-99 Honda Civic VTi EG4
92-98 Honda CRX VXi EG1
Which are japanese models, so yeah, that motor would be JDM y0.
As for figuring out what car you have, post pictures of the interior... Since the motor is obviously swapped, you can't tell from it.

well, vtec it is. dont want to get my head chewed off. sorry about no interior pics, dnt have ne yet ill get some as soon as i can. so now, does this motor come stock vtec or was it made into vtec?
WOW... Your going to be spending some time under that hood cleaning up that mess of a wiring job. I would just pick up a harness that is already wired for VTEC. That cluster [freak] of a wiring mess hurts...
Also its a D15B which is a JDM motor (already been stated). It also looks like it was converted from auto/manual (believe those speaker wires are hooked up to the reverse switch that run across the tranny).
Your header is rusted at the top (more like all around) but the dings on the bottom arnt terrible (not like your going for uber major performance anyway) and its a DC sport so atleast its not garbage, so i wouldnt jump to replacing that right away (unless of course you have a exhaust leak)
Its hard to tell if the valve cover is just faded or if its oil leaking out. If it is oil, order a Valve cover gasket and O rings for the spark plugs and replace them. If youve never worked on a car I sugest picking up a manual (for the motor you can get a 92-95 manual) and start with little things to learn.

Your VIN will say what trim your car is. Type it into this site:
http://www.carfax.com/
And it will tell you the trim. Changing the engine does not change the trim.

omg that swap looks like hell, speaker wire to hook up the vtec system, a destroyed header, and the a/c lines hanging there. unless you have a lot of time on your hands get rid of that asap.
I am gonna guess it is a CX model because:
1. they added wiring for vtec for the D15B. cx did not have this wiring originally.
2. they added wiring for the 4 wire o2 sensor. cx came with a 1 wire o2 sensor originally.
lol @ the speaker wire, looks like the previous owner was a hack

Welcome to the site man. Pick up a manual for your car (Helms, Haynes, Chilton) and browse the FAQ thread linked (permanently) at the top of the page on the 1992-2000 Civic Forum.

And yes guys, the wiring looks like ****, but it's fixable. Give the guy a break.

Post pics of the car itself (body, interior) and we'll decide.
But honestly, $900 sounds really good.

Did you figure out what it is? If you didn't, I can check the VIN on my computer too.
