98 Prelude SH front end shakes when I left off the gas?
Some info on the car 98 Prelude SH, aftermarket 17" rims. I was driving down the road going about 60km/h. When out of nowhere I let off the gas, and the front right ( I believe around the tire) starts shaking, shuddering. This is only noticable when you let off the gas (throttle), as soon as you press on the gas it goes away. Any ideas?
Few things could cause this. I wouldn't drive the car til you fix it. I would look at the lugs to make sure they are tight. Also the bearing could be bad. Check and make sure your tire is mounted center. If all this is okay I would look at the strut and ball joints.
Some more info I should of included in the first post. I hit a tire (with rim) that was lying flat on Glenmore about 6 months ago. It smashed into the sway bar in the front as I went over it (had no time to react). The car continued to drive fine for about two months until the current problem started. Once we got the car on the hoist we saw the damage the tire/rim had caused. The sway bar was bent back a little, and the links were [freak]ed. So replaced the sway bar, link kits, tie rods, the control arms are new, and four new struts as well (probably some other stuff to). But none of this helped. Now I think maybe the wheel bearings? Thanks for the replys
Oh yeah and all three motor mounts are new to.
