Coilovers good or bad?
o.k. so today I went to my mechanic to put on my suspension and he tells me that my obx coilovers will eventually mess up my KYB shocks and struts, and that I should just get Lowering springs becuase coilovers always blow shocks out eventually. Is this true? Dont really know much about suspensions just wanna ride smooth and low. Any Ideas?
The problem isn't that you're riding on coilovers, it's that you're riding on OBX coilovers. That company is known to make nothing but junk.
If you want height adjustability, I'd suggest a set of Ground Controls.
If you don't care so much about adjustability, something reputable like Eibach sportlines will work fine.
Also, I have no idea what KYB struts you are on. KYB AGX's are valved to handle a pretty significant drop. If you are on GR2's, I wouldn't drop much more than an inch, as they are more a sporty alternative to OEM struts.

GR2's are crap. They are oem replacements, not sporty at all.

To be fair, it depends what coilovers you're riding on. They do tend to be a little firmer than springs and/or springs and shocks, but if you buy quality items (Tein, KW, HKS etc) then you'll be just fine.
