Rear Bass Tubes, Rear Speaker Isolation Ideas
Obviously, the original factory bass tubes for the rear speakers are hard to find, and expensive if you can find them. Someone is making replicas of them at
http://web.mac.com/bun_stylz/i....html
Questions:
Does anyone have these, and do they work well?
Has anyone attempted to contact this guy recently? (I cannot tell if he is still making these as he did not answer my email).
Is purchasing these a waste of money and a better, cheaper solution exists? (yes I know that I can mount 6x9's in a box behind the seats - I do not want to do this).
If I ditch the bass tube idea, what else has anyone came up with to make a 6 1/2" speaker sound well? There just seems to be too much air space back there. I attempted to use a large amount of poly-fill around the speaker, which helped a little. Has anyone totally enclosed that 6 1/2" speaker enclosure area with something other than the bass tube?
I tried searching the forum, but only got 2 posts about this topic - odd......
Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, I am going to install a subwoofer of some sort, but that will happen last. I first want to figure out how to make the rear speakers sound the best before I move forward. I want to complete the full range sound stage before I address the subwoofer. Actually, I have a set of those kick panel speaker pods for the front 6 1/2" speakers that I have yet to install - the speakers that I am using won't fit in the doors, but that is an entirely seperate issue.

Ohh, OK. I thought that maybe you were looking for the bass tubes in order to skip cluttering your car with a subwoofer.
I was going to suggest that you just add a subwoofer in order to eliminate the need for the bass tube enclosures.

Yes, I understand your point. Obviously, the bass tubes are not a substitute for a subwoofer, it was only to maximize the sound quality of the mid-range sound stage. Regardless, and minus the subwoofer, did you or anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
There is actually a whole section for Audio/Video/Security https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum/27
You might be able to get some good ideas in there and might luck out and get some CRX specific advice as well.

Unfortunately, a quick glance revealed nothing that would help me. Certainly, several people have already been where I am now. There is no reason for me to re-invent the wheel.
