Default Best way to tap into my valve cover?

I was going to just drill a hole of the size of the fitting i was puting into it, and tap it the size of the thread i was going to use...and then screw it in. Is there enough metal in the valve cover? will it hold? will i come across problems doiong this? lmk. My other options were to drill a hole and jb weld it in or just weld a nut on to it and do it that way. but id like to do it the 1st way if possible to make things easyest. lmk guys thx
