Default How does spinning the whole track affect trap speed?

Kind of a hard question to answer I know but how does spinning the entire track affect trap speed? I know usually spinning a little will increase trap compared to dead hooking but what about spinning every gear? It obviously depends on a number of factors but lets hear your experiences. What about walking the car off the line at idle?

I am asking because I went to the track tonite and only got in three passes. The first one I snapped an axle (not enough preload I guess, or a worn axle from the car being low). Get it back together and have time for two more quick passes. Track was cold at this point (42* with a crosswind) and I didn't want to break another axle so no burnout (205 bfg drag radials) and I left the line at idle and didn't get onto it till the 60ft mark. Obviously the et is going to be way off but my trap speed was a little lower than I was expecting. Now it just may be that my shift points were off from spinning and thats all. Just trying to salvage what info I can from these passes. Thanks

The answer appears to be yes/no/maybe from what I can find.

Here is a link to a similar discussion (have to weed through some junk in this thread) -

And another guy who's trap went up when he spun less -
