Default Horn issue.

I installed a grant steering wheel using a grant 91 prelude hub adapter. my issue now is that i want my horn back.

i tried using a longer than needed jumper wire, but it got bound up on someting inside my steering colom.

anyone got any suggestions?

mount a momentary push-button on your dash or elsewhere for your horn...? just an idea

Yeah a dash mounted push button would solve the problem. I would intall it somewhere easy to reach whilst driving, perhaps under the roof controls.

so in an emergency you have to take ur hand off the wheel to honk? i dont know about that.

it would still work if you just wanted to honk to let someone know they suck.

thats the whole point of even having a horn isnt it?

In an emergency situation i wouldnt even think of using my horn. one hand on wheel, one hand on shifter, one foot near clutch and the other on the gas. i mean if i could hit it with my head perhaps..........

lol, no not really...

the point of a horn is to honk as a bad situation comes about, ie: someone about to change lanes into you, someone backin out of a parkin spot without seeing u, etc.

And you dont have to take ur hand off the wheel, its within thumbs reach. i cruise all the time with one hand on the shifter, one on the wheel/thumb on horn. In my 9 years driving on this earth, i cant tell you how many times a quick beep has saved me trading insurance. [super jinx -->] Ive never been in an accident yet and i drive more than just about anyone i know.... wish me luck on my commute tomorrow lol

That's actually what I did too....wiring up the horn on an aftermarket steering wheel was going to be too much trouble

It's the middle button in the row of 3 to the left of the steering wheel. Autozone horn button fit just right in that little plastic trim piece.

lol AKA You're about to hit me!!! you suck!!!

...... another reason for a horn is to say hi to your buddies *beep beep*

To HAWKZE_2.3, Autozone makes a horn button? Did you do the work on your dash yourself? how do you move the fuel/temp guages over there? I want to put an LCD where you have your gauge cluster.

You should make it voice operated! When you swear than it registers, and switches your horn on.

"FUKING A$$HOLE"... "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP".....
"YOU MOTHER FUKERRRRRRRRRRR" ..... "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP"

"Cun+" .... "BEEP"

you get the idea. (jk anyhow, no stereo than...the horn wouldn't shut off heh)

Who drives with two hands on the wheel anyway?? I even see automatic car drivers with one hand on steering wheel and one hand on the auto-shifter (they are envious).

edit* forgot to speel check

lol no i suppose it wouldn't. Even at low volumes your car would still beatbox.

I think im going to go with Hawkze_2.3's advice about the button near the roof controls. thanks for the advice.
