Default Water on the floor

So it rained a lot last night and I get into my car to go to work. My passenger side floor mat is drenched and when I lift it up the carpet is also drenched (as if you took a hose to the car floor for a few minutes).

So I get to work use the shop vac to get out majority of the water. The plastic piece where the wipers are has a little bend up and we took that off. The tech said it could be the water going down it and into the vents in the car falling onto the floor behind the glove box. Yes everything was dry inside, the windshield, windows, headliner only the floor was wet.

Has anyone had this problem? We used a type of sealer but it still got damp later tonight when I just checked it. Help Please!

Oh yes it is. I have been through car washes many times and this is the first time this has happened. There was water marks on the underside of the glove box because the water was dirty so you can see dirt trails. Where else can the water be from?

I'm not sure which plastic piece you're talking about. But I can tell it's there for a reason, I'd try replacing that first. If it still leaks, there's still other routes you can take. I usually find this problem on the old crv's. I ended up building a custom shield that diverts water away from the air inlet of the HVAC system.
