Default mud guards not fitting

i tried installing mud guards on my 95 civic hatch back. the front went on fine with the exception of a fender being slightly bent. when it came time for the rears... well the holes in the bumper and the hole on the frame are about a half inch above the holes in the mud guard itself. i hope i explained that enough.

i was wondering if maybe i have coupe mud guards. or if the jdm civic rear bumper is different. or difference between the years of the 92-95's. it fits the countours of the bumper perfect, its just that the mounting holes don't match.

i did a brief search and only found magazine adds where someone had mud guards or for sale threads. just hoping someone has encountered this before and can guide me through thanks.

the rear bumper should have two rubber attach on each side. remove the rubber inside the rear bumper than put your mud splash guard on than the rubber after.

my friend mentioned just using the self tapping screws. i would feel more comfortable using these bolts i got. philips with a washer and bolt. i was worrying about the part that attaches to the frame. i don't want the mud guards flapping in the wind. and i would much rather prefer using the oem mounting points.

Using a few screws to attach the mud guards to the car shouldn't be a problem.. They should hold quite well..
