Default b18b1 power loss????

I bought a 1993 civic ex with a 94 b18b1 motor in it with hydro tranny. I used to have a 97 dx with a single overhead cam. On my single when i would take off in first and slam into 2nd i would spin the tires a bit, but with the new ex with b18b motor in it, when i take off in first and dump into 2nd, i downt spin tires at all, it just takes off slowly almost as if it was restricted in some way. My brother in law has a 94 civic bubble with the same motor in it, we both have open exhaust with no cat, but the only difference is he has a header on it. But when i drive his car it just feels quicker, and when i dump 2nd gear his tires spin like crazy. Even when were racing he sometimes just launches on me in 2nd 3rd and 4th gear when were on the hight way. I just feel like mine is losing power somewhere. It runs great, never backfires or anything like that, just seems slower than it should. Any ideas where to start, ive heard maybe clutch is going but i dont know, it catches higher up than my brothers does. Please help

What kind of ECU are you running?

when did you last change your plugs/wires/rotor/dizzycap?

how wide are your tires?

Need some more details other than "Its slower than my bros"

its a ecu for a b16a2, i was told it makes it run faster than the ls ecu, dont know the truth to that. i have the 15" swirlies, i dont know exactly how wide but stock size, and i have not replaced anything on it yet, i just bought it a few weeks ago.

You were told incorrectly,
A) your motor doesn't have Vtec so the fuel mapping is all kinds of screwed up
B) your motor has a much larger displacement than a B16, causing your fuel mapping to be all kinds of screwed up
C) you may have already damaged your engine running that ECU

So long story short, Buy a B18B1 ECU and watch how much faster your car will be.

Oh, and I hope you haven't been reving up to the 8200RPM redline of the B16 ECU because that is a sure-fire way to destroy an LS engine that was never designed to get much past 7000.

change the ecu for sure.. also what transmission are you running? an ls trans right? the guy with the hatch probly has a gsr or b16 trans, i have a b18b1 in my coupe with a gsr trans and it pulls a hell of a lot harder than with the stock tranny
