Default Thinking of going turbo

Hi, I'm new to this site, but I've been a Honda fanatic for the past few years. I have done simple upgrades to a few of my car so far and I'm wanting to take to next step, BOOST.
I have a few Honda/Acura cars: 1992 Intergra GS, 185,000 more or less stock
1993 Teg Rs 4dr., 160,000 more or less stock
1999 Civic Si, 80,000 w usual upgrades(intake,exhaust, fuel system.)
I have notice that most turbo kits say they fit both b16 and b18 motors, is this true? That is mostly just saying that the exhaust manifold will fit either, right?
Why I am asking this is because if I do try this out I wanna start off on one of my older Tegs, before graduating to installing it in my baby, the SI. I wouldn't be too sad if I blew one of those Tegs up in the name of "research".
As you can tell I already know that this isn't an easy, bolt on task, and stuff is gonna go boom. I respect yous who have knowledge on this issue. I don't know anyone who has ever tried something like this so I was hoping some of you could help.
My main ? is this. What are some good books/ websites to read to learn the basic install tricks? I've looked a little on here, but most of the posts are over my head or all the post are just telling people to "leave it up to the profesionals". I don't care If I break stuff. I'll just learn more, because I'll have to fix whatever plus I'll know what not to do next time. I just need some basic guidance as to what all has to be modified to make the whole thing work.
Thanks for your help!
